Mother and three children die in Bolton house fire

Three children and their mother have died in a house fire despite the father's desperately bid to save them.
Emergency services were called to the blaze in Rosamond Street, Bolton, shortly after 9am on Saturday.
A man, believed to be the children's father, managed to escape from the building before attempting to smash a window and rescue his relatives, according to Greater Manchester Police.
He is said to be in a stable condition.
One of the children was pronounced dead at the scene, while the other victims were confirmed dead at hospital.
The cause of the fire is being investigated but it is not being treated as suspicious.

Detective Chief Inspector Chris Bridge said: “These are utterly heart-breaking circumstances and our thoughts go out to anyone affected by this tragic incident.
“This appears to be a family home and we have been working to inform loved ones of this awful loss.
“This happened on a Saturday morning when many people would be up and about and I would appeal to anyone with any information about this incident to please call us.”
Andy Burnham, the Mayor of Greater Manchester, tweeted that his thoughts were "with the family, their friends and the whole community".
Officers remain at the scene and roads in the surrounding area have been closed.
